Hyaluronic acid - antiinflammatory molecule. Helps with joint pain and general soft tissue body pain caused by the lyme spirochete production of neurotoxins & lipoproteins secreted due to bacterium cell death.
All species 60 to 100mg per day in oral or injectable form.
Use Conquer oral (Kinetic Technologies.com) for horses, dogs & cats.
Injectable forms are available, Adequan & Legend.
An oral rapid dissolve is available at EZmelt.com
For pain & inflammation use Traumeel tablets (Heel Corp).
Rhus Tox, Hypericum & Arnica also useful.
dosage horse - 5 to 10 beads/tablets three or four times daily.
dosage dog/cat - 1 or 2 beads/tablets three times daily.
dosage primates - 3 beads/tablets three times daily or more depending upon pain.
Note that these homeopathies can be used safely for weeks or for the duration of Lyme induced symptoms.
Keep non-steroidal anti-inflammatories use to a minimum - do not use steroids.
Ledum - antiparasital very effective, 2 to 5 beads three times per day for 3 to 6 weeks depending upon weight.
Lyme Nosode - similar to vaccines. Nosodes are prepared from Lyme infected tissues then highly diluted as in a vaccine. The dilution is so high that only the "molecular energies" are present - give 1 or 2 beads as directed, usually for 1 week during the months most likely when the neophyte Lyme organism feeds, i.e. Sep, Oct, Nov and Mar, Apr, May. Nosodes help keep the immune system focused on the Lyme infection process and are much safer than any vaccine now being marketed for any of the species.

Exercise & Treatments during Lyme infection:
All Species: low level exercise especially in 1st few weeks of infection & treatment.
Massage, acupuncture, electromagnetic therapies such as laser, therapeutic ultrsound, electrostimulation and hyperbaric oxygen treatments.
Diets during Lyme infection:
General rule for all species - reduce toxic additives & antigens that can lead to allergies. Utilize kelp & seaweed, raw honey & raw vegetables. Remember that chronic Lyme disease is an autoimmune type of response to the parasite and diet is the answer to re-balancing the immune system, not immunosuppressors such as steroid therapy. No vaccines for any species - many relapses have been reported & validated.
Horses: Individual grains such as barley, flax & oats - No commerial feeds which can contain wheat & soy products. Limit protein in commercial feeds, maximize good carbohydrates & 3-omega fats. Good water source & quality hay.
Dogs & Cats: Holistic feeds, raw or kibble without inflammatory grains.
